The Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation is a cause close to my heart! Established in 2013 in Jamestown, it provides a shelter and a boxing academy to orphans and street boys. I recently discovered the Foundation after visiting it for boxing training. I was shocked by the sad and dilapidated conditions of the gym and living conditions, so my friend Nic and I decided to help them by organizing this Charity boxing gala to raise donations.
Our goal was to raise $ 5,000 to refresh and refurbish the rundown boxing and accommodation facilities and to buy new equipment for the boys.
We invited people to support our worthy cause by:
• Paying the entrance fee
• Purchasing food and drink at the event
• Bidding in the auction
• Betting on the boxing bouts
• Making donations
With Their generosity we were able to raised $4500 included sponsors.
