I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported our fundraising event for The Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation.
Your generosity, whether through donations, attendance, or sponsorship, has made a tremendous impact on the lives of the boys at the foundation.
The event, held on February 10th, was a huge success, and thanks to your contributions, we raised an impressive $4,500, bringing us closer to our goal.
The funds raised have been used to significantly improve the gym and living conditions at the foundation.
Here is a summary of the work that has been completed and a video before and after the gym.
• Roof renovation: We replaced the old roof sheets, improving the safety and comfort of the space.
• Ceiling and electrical work: Both have been fully upgraded, providing better lighting and overall functionality in the gym and living areas.
• Floor work: The gym floor has been repainted, giving it a fresh and welcoming look for the young boxers.
• Fans and mirrors: Fans were installed to improve ventilation, and mirrors were fixed and the gym to enhance the training experience.
• Accommodation repairs: The three rooms where the boys live have undergone necessary repairs, including the construction of sturdy metal beds and the purchase of new mattresses for their comfort.
• Boxing equipment and ring repairs: We were able to buy some new boxing equipment and make essential repairs to the boxing ring, ensuring that the boys have the tools they need for training.
This transformation would not have been possible without your kindness and commitment to helping the boys at the foundation. The refreshed facilities and new equipment have already brought smiles to their faces, and it is inspiring to see the positive impact we have made together.
